I recently bought a surf movie — Campaign 2 – as a present for a friend. The rules of snow/skate/surf movies are: you get em — then lend em — and stoke everyone up. So I got it back within days.
This movie contains some of the worst acting ever put onto tape. Thank god for DVD technology (and the foresight of the producers of the film) to include an option to watch the movie with “no hollywood” —which removes all the “acting” scenes and leaves only surfing.
On the plus side – it contains some very good wave riding shot with 35mm film. Standouts are ultra-smooth Joel Parkinson and Kelly Slater. The second DVD contains about an hour of cutting room floor rides that are just as good as the film.
