One more fall weekend .. one more massive swell to chase down.
Kyle is rolling up the eastern seaboard and should be bringing some HEAVY swell along with it. We’ll be out once again (how many weekends is this now ?! when do I get to sleep in again ??) and bringing back a report to our semi-landlocked loved ones and friends.
Early Sunday especially looks truly ridiculous and probably out of my skill range — 9ft+ @ 12 secs with solid straight offshore wind.
“Sunday:
N of the Cape – medium SE swell with periods of 12-14 seconds peaks in the late morning with some bigger sets.
Cape – large SE swell with periods of 12-14 seconds at dawn slowly drops to low-end medium size by dark.
S of the Cape – large SE swell with periods of 12-14 seconds at dawn slowly drops to low-end medium size by dark.SIZE LEGEND:
Medium: chest to well overhead.
Large: double overhead plus.” — NESURF
Least I’m in the best shape of my life (easily).

You don’t get a second chance at a swell. You don’t get a second chance at any particular wave.
Pic the biggest one you can and paddle like hell.
It’s only water.
Great advice! I did that this morning and it paid off – sick front side head high ride – closest i’ve been to being barreled yet (ended in a closeout that I tried to unsuccessfully dive through – ha). It’s only water.
