I often wonder if there’s ever any positive discussion of skateboarding among architects. I wonder if the guy who designed this simple walkway knew what he created. I’m sure the discussion that happens isn’t the good kind — more like; How can we make this “skateproof”?
This famous ledge was featured in countless pictures and movies for almost 10 years. The powers that be in SF decided that it should be rendered “less fun”. It has recently been liberated by some sneaky souls in the middle of the night.
