“Together with Björn Atldax and architect Albert France-Lanord. Restaurant Tranan has a strong musical tradition, hosting intimate concerts with international artists, bands and DJs. It’s also one of my favourite spots since way back. We were comissioned to redesign the restaurant’s two restrooms.
The artwork, monumental portraits of Alice Coltrane, Phife Dawg, Tom Waits, Biggie, Flora Purim, Peter Tosh and other artists whose music I associate with late nights at Tranan, cover all of the walls and ceilings. The piece was created over three summer weeks, using 300.000 mosaic tiles.”
